What is Nebrija?

Antonio de Nebrija University is a private and independent university, officially recognized by the Spanish government, with a variety of international programs.

Our university is named after Antonio de Nebrija, a great humanist and the first grammarian of the Spanish language. In consequence, the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language and the formation of teachers of Spanish are key activities of the University. It has a center which has been dedicated exclusively to Spanish language training since 1985: the Centro de Estudios Hispanicos Antonio de Nebrija.

The main activity of the Centro de Estudios Hispánicos is the teaching of Spanish language and culture through its Spanish courses.

Our Spanish courses are intended for those persons who would like to learn or improve their Spanish from the beginning level to the most advanced level.

Our Spanish students come from very different countries, they are only adults, at least 18, and they study Spanish for educational or professional reasons.

In addition to Spanish courses, the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija offers a wide range of international courses and programs for foreign undergraduate and graduate students.

In the area of Spanish as a foreign language, the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija is:

A major center for learning Spanish at different levels in Madrid.
